I suppose, since you've taken the time and interest to browse my site it is only polite to let you know a little about me.

My name is Karen Humphries, and I was raised with dogs.  The first dachshund that I had any dealings with was my parents' little mini smooth called "Pixie".  Later, after Pixie died we decided to replace her with the same breed, but as no dog could take Pixie's place we went for the mini longs.  The first three we bought were Heidi, Petra and Tina.  They're now 12 and, despite loosing a tooth here and there they're enjoying life to the full.

After passing my GCSE exams my dad bought me my first dog in my own name - that was Sophie, Regendachs Risky Dancer.  A year later I'd saved enough money to purchase Abbie and well you know the rest . . . .

With all the dogs I had to get my priorities right - so when I decided to study Medicine my local university, Queen's, was the ideal answer.  Thankfully it was only 45 minutes away by train so I lived at home for 5 years and commuted throughout my degree.

After graduation I was employed in my local hospital, Craigavon Area Hospital, and I'm still there!  It's only 15 minutes from home and it means that I can enjoy the pleasure of my little hounds all the time.

I think that's really all there is to tell . . . . if you have any questions/queries about the dogs, dachshunds in general, or showing in Ireland, let me know - and if I can't help I'm sure I know a man with a dog that can!!!

All the best
